Ever Forward - Review In A Few

Ever Forward is an adventure puzzle game — it is the story of Maya. Maya is lost in a strange world somewhere between reality and imagination. She is alone to confront her despair on her journey of discovery, where she must unlock her memories and confront her fears to unravel the secrets of the world. Players will need to use their observational skills and intelligence to solve multiple puzzles to piece together the mystery of Maya's past and what dark secrets she has buried.

Now that's the official description out the way, what do I think about Maya and her Ever Forward adventure? I must admit I'm a little but stumped, while the game looks and feels great, the story was interesting, but was very "Insert your opinion here" type business, and while that works sometimes I feel it didn't here. That's not to say that the story was bad by any sense I was just expecting more.

On the other hand, the graphics and animations are brilliant and I was very happy with how it all flowed and looked. The colours of the levels felt very "dreamlike" and I think this is what they were aiming for, not to mention it really sets that dreamlike atmosphere well.

The puzzles themselves were very well, as you get more into the game they become a bit tedious and frustrating, but saying that they are well made, and they lean in with the environment very well. I will point out that I really loved the make your own savepoint feature, I thought this was a brilliant touch to the game, not to mention, not being able to run from enemies. Very dreamy.

So would I buy this game? I think this is an interesting one as if you're not a puzzle game player, then I more than likely would give this a miss or grab it in a bundle, but if puzzles are your thing, then yes buy it!
